Ohio International Receives ATA Approval

Ohio International College's programs in Translation Studies have been approved by the American Translators Association, Mr. Terry Hanlen, the Association's Deputy Executive Director announced February 20th. Approval makes OIC graduates eligible to take the ATA certification examination and earn one of most valuable credentials in the translation field.

The approval makes OIC the only two-year undergraduate program in the Midwest recognized by the ATA and one of only three such programs in Ohio at any level. OIC is now the only undergraduate program in Ohio approved by the ATA for Japanese-English translation.

Ohio International recently underwent review by the Ohio Board of Regents and hopes to begin offering its programs as early as spring trimester 2008.
