OIC Faculty Advising and Curriculum Development Duties

All faculty members are expected to participate in student advising and in College governance as members of the Academic Council. They serve on one of two subcommittees of the Council: (1) Admissions, Recruitment and Retention or (2) Student Advising and Financial Aid. They are also be expected to provide counsel on matters of importance to the College as requested by the President of the College of the Board of Trustees.

At the same time, all faculty members are expected to be actively engaged in the development of program curricula through regular Academic Council meetings and program reviews. In their own areas of expertise, they develop course syllabi that match catalog descriptions and adhere to standards set forth by the College and all regulatory and accrediting bodies. Their instruction is subject to evaluation. All are expected to submit to the President of the College an annual research and professional development agenda with specific goals and objectives and, at the same time, evaluate their own achievement over the previous year. Part-time faculty do the same, but on a semester-by-semester basis.
